To the better half of humanity.

have u seen a velvet smile behind the veil
or a tear that ran its course down the cheek
a virgin face forever hidden in anonymity
sheathed, protected, stunted, meek.
-------------------------

and she dreams of flight
a flight of fantasy
up in the clouds
into the realms of the lofty sky.

the worned street she treads
new avenues in the corner of her eye
where only her glance dreads
manacled feet unable to keep
a tear from a weep ,
a breath from a sigh.

childhood dreams lost time's abyss
lost, lost, left behind, put down.
by hands that are her own
people she knows, to protect their lass

in her dolls life she sees her own
only a doll, she forgets in glee
she waits for her frog-prince to set her free
oh but she doesnt know
my foolish little angel
oh my foolish little angel...

have u seen a velvet smile behind the veil
or a tear that ran its course down the cheek
a virgin face forever hidden in anonymity
sheathed, protected, stunted, meek.
